Bow Arrows
It is believed that bow arrows have been used for at least 25,000 years based upon the discovery of arrowheads in Africa. It’s unknown if they played target archery games back then. We like to think they did. In 2340BC, the Babylonians first used arrows as well as bows for warfare activities.
Traditionally, wooden arrows have been made from willow, oak, cedar, ash, elm, or bamboo. In modern times, cedar, fir, and hickory are more commonly used. The weight of an arrow can vary greatly depending on several factors such as its length, material, and diameter. On average, a modern carbon arrow for hunting or target shooting can weigh between 400 and 600 grains, which is approximately 0.026 to 0.039 pounds or 11.7 to 21.2 grams. However, lighter or heavier arrows are also available depending on the intended use.
